what putter is better?
i am looking at the rife 2 bar hybrid and the never compromise ncx ray putters they both feel good i just don’t know which one rolls better
Rife 2 bar hybrid has pretty much no feel to it at all, so if you are an experienced golfer, that will probably be the first thing you notice. Odd, for an insert face, but that “butter feel” is just not there. That being said, it has only 1 degree of loft, and that really does make a difference; you can see, especially on long putts, that the ball just starts rolling almost immediately.
The X-Ray, on the other hand, has a very supple and responsive feel; you’ll know if you hit your putt immediately. Also, the Alpha mallet is top-notch in terms of alignment. If you are a traditionalist, you’ll probably just walk away from it based on how it looks; when E.T went home, he left his putter, and this is it. For all the feel and aligning ability, it does not exactly breed confidence when you are looking down at it, so it will take some time getting used to.
Demo both of them, preferably in grass (not turf) situations, and pick what is best for you. Neither is crappy, but they are 2 very different putters.
